Posture Exercise with Chiropractic Care for a Healthy Lifesytle
Chiropractic care and posture are two very important aspects of living a long healthy life. When used separately they can do wonders for the human body but when they are used in conjunction with each other they have a combined effect that can actually better a persons quality of life.
A patient usually comes to a chiropractic office for the first time because they are in some sort of pain; usually neck or back. Their number one goal is to get out of pain fast. They usually aren’t worried about how they can keep themselves out of pain for the long term. The chiropractor and their staff perform adjustments, therapy, and eventually start rehab. Usually the last thing a patient wants to do is their strengthening exercises. The patients think their is nothing they can see with their eyes that shows them that the rehab and strengthening exercises are worth their time and are actually working!
This is where the posture exercises really show the patient there is a reason to do their rehab. It can show them the real value of their health. Some written information about things such as raised blood pressure and a higher risk or future fractures can show a patient how big of a difference good posture can make. On a patients first visit their photo should be taken on the wall grid to show how much their posture is off. After starting rehab and continuing with their program their picture should be taken again so they can actually see how much they have improved their posture and in turn their overall health just by strengthening their core. The body learns what you teach it. The more strengthening you do, the more the body is going to learn that is the correct form for the body to be in. When seeing physical results, a person is much more likely to continue with the program the doctor has designed for them.
All in all, combining chiropractic care and posture exercises motivate people to continue down the path to a healthy lifestyle. One without the other just does not work as well. It should always be looked at as a package deal!
