The BodyZone Paradigm

Our Philosophy
BodyZone.com adds strengthening posture to the universally agreed upon wellness concepts of exercise, rest, hydration, tobacco avoidance, stress management, and avoiding unnecessary environmental drugs and toxins.

Daily Posture Exercise promotes balanced, symmetrical motion patterns to maximize the benefits of activity and exercise.  When joints and muscles regularly move full-range:

  • Pain is relieved from reduced postural muscle and joint stress (a virtual epidemic in our sedentary, sitting society)
  • The strength, balance and stability benefits of musculo-skeletal therapy is maximized
  • Overall health is improved- Wellness and mortality studies strongly suggest superior cardio-vascular and respiratory benefits with decreased postural stress.

7 Habits for a Long HealthSpan & Aging Well

Some say health is just not feeling sick, but wellness professionals such as chiropractors and others have always defined health as state of optimal well-being, not merely the absence of disease. Current research increasingly proves this wisdom, demonstrating how poor LifeHabit choices create long-term subclinical conditions and contribute dramatically to the onset of disease.

CPT coding for Posture Exercise (active care)

Posture Exercise can be coded as therapeutic exercise, but in my reading of the CPT codes Neuro-Muscular Re-Education better describes the clinical and professional service at a similar RVU*.  Despite some carriers (intentional?)  miscategorizations of the NM Re-ed code as "stroke related"....

POSTURE (defined): How you balance your body. The 2nd Posture Principle

If you accept Newtonian physics you agree that, however else you may look at the human condition, the body functions as a machine insofar as it must balance.

If a body does not balance, it falls down.

We balance unconsciously but, the use, and abuse, of the human body’s biomechanical elements results in breakdown over time. So, to retrain adaptive posture we must retrain how a body reflexively balances.

Patient Choice Practice
Ageing Baby Boomers will be the opportunity for successful wellness practices in the 21st century.  Healthcare changed with HMOs, PPOs, and managed care companies have trained patients to go to the doctor on their list, and even greater HealthCare changes are on the horizon.

On the other hand, today's consumer wants to make informed choices and decisions about their care. Plus, the internet is revolutionizing health information by satisfying patient’s increasing demand for information, empowerment, and convenience.

“Now is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Winston Churchill

Implementing Posture Exercise into Patient's Lives with HabitKeys
"If you want to go fishing, begin by thinking like a fish." (old Maori saying)

You might know that when people do daily Posture Exercises they respond and feel better to motion based therapies, but....Did you know posture exercises also serve as an “early warning” system for when people begin to “stiffen up”.

Daily posture exercise makes people Posture conscious, and patients who are aware of how their body should move kinesthetically "know" when they are not moving normally.

The Patient Choice Practice

Teaching with The Posture Principles (2.2)

A Patient Choice Practice cares for the patient as an educated consumer by integrating common sense knowledge with intelligent health choices.

Managed Care and limited insurance policies can be integrated with personal pay programs to effectively and ethically treat patients from AcuteCare to RehabCare to WellnessCare. Aging Baby Boomers do not want to stop "doing" as they age, and many will choose to do consistent posture exercise and therapy to help maintain an active lifestyle as they age. Empowering people to move, feel, and be well is the key to having patients choose financial responsibility for RehabCare and WellnessCare.
